Silent One (Aka Le Silencieux) Blu-ray

Who is Anton Haliakov, who has just been abducted by the MI5 in London? A Soviet scientist, apparently. Sixteen years earlier, however, the man had another identity, Clément Tibère, and another nationality, French. What led him to become Russian and change his identity? And why are the British secret services interested in him? Alternately titled Escape to Nowhere and The Great Manhunt, this classic thriller stars the criminally cool Lino Ventura (The Beast is Loose, Last Known Address) with Leo Genn (Green for Danger), Suzanne Flon (The Train), Robert Hardy (The Spy Who Came In from the Cold) and Lea Massari (L’avventura). Directed by Claude Pinoteau (The 7th Target) with touches of Graham Greene and Alfred Hitchcock, The Silent One a.k.a. Le silencieux spins a sleek web of Euro-spy suspense. 2K Restoration by Gaumont | New Audio Commentary by Film Historians Steve Mitchell and Troy Howarth | Theatrical Trailer | In French with Optional English Subtitles
